Vassilis Tsigourakos is a Project Scientist for the Ocean and Science team at RPS | A Tetra Tech Company, with over a decade of international experience in marine and environmental sciences. Since 2021, he has focused on oil and chemical spill modeling projects, supporting contingency planning efforts, and delivering training workshops for clients utilizing RPS software tools such as OILMAP, CHEMMAP, and SARMAP.
Prior to joining Tetra Tech, Vassilis worked at Cedre in France, where he developed oil spill response plans, conducted global OPRC training, and served on the Emergency Response Team, acting as a technical advisor during spill incidents. He also collaborated with the International Maritime Organization’s Regional Activity Centre REMPEITC, assisting Caribbean states in implementing IMO environmental management policies.
Vassilis holds master’s degrees in Coastal Ecosystem Management from the University of Corsica and Maritime and Environmental Law from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, further enriching his expertise in marine science and policy.
