Lucy has a background in coastal engineering, holding a master’s and undergraduate degree. She currently works as a Training and Consultancy Team Leader based in Southampton, UK providing emergency preparedness and response readiness services globally.
Lucy has over 17 years of experience working at Oil Spill Response in various roles. Lucy is an experienced professional in oil spill preparedness, and project manages and delivers various secondments, IMS, TA roles, exercises and capability reviews for oil and gas companies with offshore and inland operations.
Lucy conducted dispersant efficacy testing offshore during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, in the Gulf of Mexico, a valuable real spill experience from which the learning can be transferred into practical use during planning. Lucy also conducted the response modelling for a deepwater spill offshore Nigeria.
Notable recent works include reviewing the suite of the latest Good Practice Guides, writing the internal Flexi Consultant Programme, being an assessor for the internal competency programme and working closely with both the oiled wildlife and plastics core groups.
