With a background in marine sciences, Saskia joined the Sea Alarm Foundation as a Senior Technical Adviser in 2009. Prior to that she worked in a consultancy role at Oil Spill Response (OSRL) and as Project Officer for marine pollution preparedness & response at the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) in Lisbon. Saskia has worked on wildlife planning projects in Europe, central Asia and Africa and delivers wildlife response training and exercises to oil industry, NGO and governmental audiences. She has been involved in the response to several oiled wildlife incidents and is co-Secretariat of the EUROWA (European oiled wildlife response assistance) network.
