Tai Hong Nguyen is a seasoned Oil Spill Specialist and Project Manager with extensive experience in marine spill preparedness and response across Southeast Asia and the broader APAC region. With a strong technical background in oil spill response operations, environmental compliance, and response readiness, he plays a pivotal role in fostering regional collaboration, capacity building, and policy development to enhance oil spill response frameworks as the Project Manager for the Global Initiative for Southeast Asia (GI SEA).
Prior to his current role, Tai Hong held leadership positions at OSRL, where he was responsible for managing oil spill response equipment stockpiles, reviewing OSRL's Global Ideal Stockpile, and driving operational readiness across the region. He has actively contributed to response planning efforts aimed at strengthening APAC’s resilience against marine pollution incidents.
Before transitioning into the field of oil spill response, Tai Hong was a trained Petroleum Geoscientist, specialising in Petroleum Geophysics. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), further solidifying his expertise in strategic planning and execution.
At InterSpill 2025, Tai Hong will share insights into the evolution and outlook of regional collaboration in marine spill preparedness and response, addressing key challenges, emerging trends, and opportunities for enhanced cooperation in Southeast Asia.
