McShane, Nicole

Nicole McShane began her career in 2023 with Ambipar as a Graduate Response Consultant within the Training and Consultancy Team. In her role, she has contributed as Coordinator and GIS specialist for international response operations, as well as designing Incident Management Exercises for a range of clients.

Her experiences to date extend across various aspects of marine response, including operational deployments at sea and as part of Shoreline Clean-up Assessment Technique (SCAT) teams. In 2024, she served as Assistant Situation Unit Leader for the Key Bridge Response in Baltimore, where she developed an incident-specific ICS 209 form, which is expected to be included in the U.S. Coast Guard 2025 Handbook. She has also played a key role in response efforts as Ambipar’s Planning Lead, SCAT, and GIS Coordinator for Operation Gulf Stream in Tobago and the Valencia Floods.

Nicole holds a First-Class Honours degree in Geography from Queen’s University Belfast, specialising in GIS. During her studies, she was awarded the Study USA Scholarship by the British Council to study business, law, and science at Arcadia University, PA. As part of this program, she served as a delegate on Harvard’s National Model United Nations Human Rights Council, reinforcing her interest in geopolitics, conflict, and security. She continues to expand her knowledge and skillsets in environmental response and GIS, contributing to preparedness and response efforts in the field.
