Rob James is the Senior Vice President of Lamor Corporation Plc, responsible for the Europe and Asia market area. He entered his role and joined the Global Leadership Team of Lamor at the end of 2024, with responsibilities for customer engagement and services delivery across the region. Rob has an intimate knowledge of the OSR industry and what it takes to manage in a crisis.
Background:
With a first degree in Physics and a Masters in Process Safety and Loss Prevent, Rob worked in the civil nuclear industry developing management and storage solutions for radioactive wastes and safety cases for new-built process plants. Rob was appointed Managing Director of a wholly owned subsidiary marketing effluent treatment technologies before moving into the hazardous waste industry.
As General Manager of a new-formed division he developed treatment and recycling options for a range of newly-defined hazardous wastes and turned around two under-performing business units before joining OSRL.
With over 20 years' experience as a Director of OSRL, Rob has been responsible for the safe and successful delivery of over 300 incident responses in his time. He also led the project team that developed the first jet aircraft wide area dispersant delivery system.
As the Chairman of the Interspill conference and exhibition for the last 15 years, Rob has developed vast networks across the incident preparedness and response communities. Rob has ensured that each edition of this major triennial event has offered content and insight at the cutting edge of the industry.
