Dr. Silje Berger has more than 15 years of experience in oil spill response. In her current position she is coordinating R&D and innovation initiatives within the Environment Emergency Response area of the Norwegian Coastal Administration (NCA).
She has a background as a biologist with her degree from the University of Hannover, Germany. She has gained experience from several incidents as part of the NCA response organization. Over the years she has been working with environmental risk assessments, contingency planning and development of decision support tools, as well as supporting response activities and environmental impact monitoring.
Currently she is leading the IMAROS 2 project, that is aiming at improving response to LSFO spills.
