Founded in 1977, MEKE is an authorized company by the government under the regulation of law 5312 (pertaining to principles of Emergency Response & Pollution of Marine Environment by Oil & Other Harmful Substances). Specific measures & activities taken within the scope of this law are briefly; planning and preparing Risk Assessment & Contingency Plan for marine pollution from shipping & offshore installations/operations in or near coastal areas & facilities that might cause contamination by petroleum/hazardous substances. MEKE carries out education programs (technical training) sea-surface cleaning, supplying & producing equipment and providing stand-by oil spill emergency response.
